EGRA Annual General Meeting featuring Tideway

EGRA is pleased to announce that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Wednesday, 25th March 2026.

As a community-led organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life in East Greenwich, we invite all residents to join us in shaping the future of our neighbourhood. EGRA relies entirely on the voluntary work and contributions of its members and executive team to ensure our community has a voice in the big decisions affecting our area.

Special guest presentation: Tideway

We are pleased to welcome Martin Griffiths, Senior Community Relations Manager, who has spent over a decade working on the Thames Tideway Tunnel. This presentation will provide an insider's look at the "Super Sewer" and its profound impact on our local river.

The talk will cover:

  • Cleaning the Thames: How the tunnel has already captured over 18 million tonnes of sewage to date.

  • Monumental scale: A look at the east site tunnel shafts, some of which reach depths greater than the height of Nelson’s Column.

  • Local legacy and public realm: Updates on new public spaces and the long-term benefits

  • Community and ecology: Tideway’s support for local charities, including the Creekside Centre and Creeklink, alongside ecological enhancements within Deptford Creek.
